Treacle Chocolate Cake & Dessert

2 T treacle
100g butter
150 g brown sugar
2 T cocoa
1 egg, beaten
150 g flour
150 ml milk at blood heat
1 t baking soda 

Preheat oven 170deg C. Grease and line a 23c cake tin. (or round).

Put treacle, butter, brown sugar, and cocoa in pot and stir over low heat until melted and smooth.

Cool 2-3- minutes and then add beaten egg, sifted flour, and combined milk and baking soda. Whisk until smooth.

Pour into tin and bake 20 minutes or until springy to the touch.

Serve warm with crème fraiche and chocolate sauce – or caramel icecream or stewed plums.
